This subsection focuses on how to customize the website’s translations.
Navigate to Configuration > Languages > Translations in the administrative area.
Description
This subsection represents a dictionary that contains terms and phrases used on the website. All phrases are combined by the same value, namely, the key which is in English. Multilingual representation of phrases ensures that the website will be displayed to customers in their preferred language.
Each key has two default values: the same phrase in English and Russian. In the dictionary (the table on the screenshot) the “Text” column contains values in Russian.
In the “Language” column one can see all available languages in which values for the appropriate key can be shown up. The site’s default language is English.
Search by key
The search by key capability is provided for ease of searching for the desired terms and phrases.
Enter a value in the far left column and search will be carried out automatically.
In addition, you can search through the following:
Your own translations, that is to say, those values you have added.
Translations from the Box, that is to say, the default translations.
Missing translations, that is to say, the keys for which no translation is provided.
The preferred option can be selected from the dropdowm list that appears when you click on the dropdown list arrow on the left of the “Find” button.
Search by value
To search for a value you should do the following.
Enter the text you are searching for in the search box “Search by value”.
The search will be conducted automatically and the search results will be displayed on the web page.
Edit
To add a translation or edit an existing one, it is necessary to do the following steps:
Select a needed key or phrase (by using search capabilities or pagination given at the bottom of the page).
Click the Edit button (the pencil icon) in the “Actions” column.
This will bring up a form to change or add a translation in a preferred language.
Click on the Save button to apply changes (or the Cancel button in case you don’t want to save them).
Delete
Click on the Delete button in the “Actions” column to delete translation along with the appropriate key.
