This subsection is where one can customize search and multusearch for products in the catalog.
Navigate to Configuration > Website Architecture in the administrative area.
Description
This is where you can customize all possible search methods. Here you’ll be able to select several methods for searching items and change the order in which search results are shown. Additionally, the advanced functionality of multisearch is provided.
Search restriction
Search restriction is a setting that limits your search to only items in a selected category. Thus a customer can select items only in categories available on the website.
How it works
The “All” search (in all Taobao categories) will return an error.
With restrictions enabled, you will never get search results until the product category has been selected.
How to enable search restriction
Go to the Website Architecture tab of the Configuration section to enable search restriction. Scroll the page down until you see the Search section.
Click the dashed blue underlined text next to Search Restriction.
Select whether you will use the search restriction or not from the dropdown list.
Click on the checkbox to save changes.
Upon saving the search restriction will be immediately implemented on the website.
Search Methods
There are multiple search methods to be used on your website. You can use just one search method as well as several ones.
Add
One can choose a search method from the appropriate list.
Click the dropdown list arrow to see the list of available searches. The dropdown list consists of the search box and the list itself.
One can click on the preferred option.
Or type first two or three letters of the name in the search field.
Once a search method has been selected click the Add button (the plus sign) to add the search method to the list.
When you’re done the selected search will appear in the list and be highlighted in green.
One needs to click the Save button to enable a search method.
All changes will be immediately applied after being saved.
Reorder
Refer to the left-hand column “Search methods in order” to change the order in which items are shown.
Select a search method you want to move.
Mouse over the Move icon (the four-headed arrow) on the left-hand side and left-click it.
Without releasing a mouse button drag the search method to a new position (for example, put it first). An empty dashed-line box shows where the search method will be placed.
When you release the mouse button the search method will take a required position.
Click the Save button to implement changes.
After saving it is necessary to clear your browser’s cache:
Click the Setting button in the header of the administrative section.
Select the Clear cache button from the dropdown menu.
After clearing your browser’s cache the modifications will be immediately applied.

Delete
This setting suggests that a search method will be removed from the list of available ones. It can be recovered anytime using the Add text box.
Select a search method to be removed in the left-hand column – “Search methods in order”.
Click the Delete button (the X icon) next to a search method name.
The search method will be removed from the left-hand list and appear in the right-hand one.
Click the Save button to implement the new setting.
After saving it is necessary to clear your browser’s cache:
Click the Setting button in the header of the administrative section.
Select the Clear cache button from the dropdown menu.
After clearing your browser’s cache the modifications will be immediately applied.

Edit a search method name
If you would like to make your search more specific and call it by yourself thus meeting your business requirements you can change its name.
Select a search method to be edited in the left-hand column – “Search methods in order”.
Click on the pencil icon on the right of the search method name.
Type the name of the search method you prefer.
Check the checkbox to apply changes.
The name has been modified.
After that is done, the changes will be immediately applied.

Multisearch
With multisearch disabled, you will get search results that satisfy the search criteria of the method being the first in the list. (For details refer to Search Methods – Reorder). Items that match other searches can be found using the sidebar.
If multisearch is enabled items are displayed in accord with search methods set up on the website.
Enabling/Disabling multisearch
Click on the dashed blue underlined text to enable/disable multisearch.
Click the dropdown list arrow to reveal all possible choices.
Select the desired option (for example, “Use”) from the list that appears.
Click on the Save button to save changes.
All changes will be immediately applied after being saved.
Customizing multisearch
Here one should specify the number of items to be displayed on a page. You can do this with the “The default number of items to be displayed” section.
Search

Advanced search
Click on the blue dashed underlined number.

Select the desired number of items from the list that appears.
Click the Save button to apply your changes.

Tmall search
Click on the blue dashed underlined number.
Click on the dropdown list arrow to reveal all possible choices.
Select the desired number of items from the list that appears.
Click the Save button to apply your changes.
All changes will be immediately applied after being saved.
Taobao recommendations
Click on the blue dashed underlined number.
Click on the dropdown list arrow to reveal all possible choices.
Select the desired number of items from the list that appears.
Click the Save button to apply your changes.
All changes will be immediately applied after being saved.
Goods in stock
Click on the blue dashed underlined number.
Click on the dropdown list arrow to reveal all possible choices.
Select the desired number of items from the list that appears.
Click the Save button to apply your changes.
All changes will be immediately applied after being saved.
Goods with reviews
Click on the blue dashed underlined number.
Click on the dropdown list arrow to reveal all possible choices.
Select the desired number of items from the list that appears.
